About Rooikrans Hiking Trail
Rooikrans is a network of three circular hikes on a game and cattle farm in the escarpment region west of Loskop Dam. The routes climb through kloofs to views across bushveld plains, passing indigenous forest, rock pools, cascades, seasonal waterfalls and the red cliffs that give the trail its name.
Each route offers a different level of commitment, and two can be combined for a longer experienced-hiker day. Expect a remote bushveld setting with limited mobile reception.
