Green Flag Trails is a voluntary quality-assessment and accreditation system for hiking trails. It considers trail management, design and features, information and safety, environmental responsibility, and heritage and community impact, helping hikers understand what has been assessed about a trail experience.
A useful quality signal, not a live conditions report
Accreditation can help a visitor choose a trail with clearer information and responsible management, but it does not remove the need for personal judgement. Weather, fire, flooding, maintenance, access and bookings can change after a trail has been assessed.
