Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve is a large Gauteng reserve near Heidelberg, with rolling ridges, grassland, woodland pockets and a long-established trail network. It is a serious hiking destination rather than simply a scenic roadside reserve: a visitor can choose a short interpretive walk, a substantial day route, a multi-day hike or a slow drive through the reserve’s changing landscapes.
