Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park protects one great Kalahari landscape across Botswana and South Africa’s Northern Cape: red dunes, camelthorn trees, pale grassland and the broad, normally dry beds of the Nossob and Auob rivers. It is a park of distance, silence and patient observation rather than a quick drive-through safari. The Botswana and South African sides have different access points, camps, roads and booking systems, but the desert ecosystem and its wildlife move across an internationally shared landscape.
