Spitskop Game Farm offers three marked walking routes along the Selons River and surrounding bushveld between Rustenburg and Koster. They range from a short introductory walk to a 13 km ridge-and-rock route, with opportunities to see zebra, kudu, impala, wildebeest and eland.

- Kingfisher Trail: 1.3 km, about 1 hour; easy to moderate, 95 m ascent.
- Aloe Wonder / Aloe Amphi Trail: 4.5 km, 1.5–2 hours; moderate, 186 m ascent.
- Red Rocks Trail: 13 km, 3.5–5 hours; moderate to difficult, 480 m ascent.
All three reach terrain around 1,443 m above sea level. Choose the route that suits the group’s fitness, time and weather conditions.
What to expect
Carry water, sun protection, a hat and a basic first-aid kit. River access and conditions change with weather; assess water levels before swimming. Mobile reception is limited to the camp area, so do not rely on a phone as the only safety plan.
About the area
The farm lies on the R52 between Rustenburg and Koster, roughly two hours from Johannesburg. Bushveld habitat and the Selons River create an accessible hiking setting with wildlife viewing as part of the experience.
