Spitzkoppe Nature Reserve

Spitzkoppe rises abruptly from Namibia’s desert plains in the Erongo Region, a cluster of ancient granite domes and boulders whose highest peak reaches 1,784 metres above sea level. Often called the “Matterhorn of Namibia”, it is a place for people who enjoy geology, photography, camping, climbing, stargazing and the discovery of small paths between rocks. Its appeal is not a conventional game reserve experience: the landscape itself, together with its cultural and archaeological importance, is the main reason to visit.
