Popa Falls Game Park

Popa Falls Game Park is Namibia’s smallest game park, protecting a compact patch of riverine forest, lawns and islands on the east bank of the Okavango River. Its name is slightly misleading if visitors expect a single towering waterfall: Popa Falls is a series of rapids formed where the river runs over a quartzite ledge before continuing south toward Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The setting makes Popa Falls a fine stop for a slower river visit, birding and a practical base for nearby protected areas.
