Kwando Core Area

The Kwando Core Area is the eastern core-conservation zone of Bwabwata National Park in north-eastern Namibia, along the Kwando River. It is not the separate Kwando Conservancy and it is not an open hiking reserve. The area protects riparian woodland, floodplains, grassland, lagoons and essential river access for wildlife, while tourism is deliberately controlled to limit disturbance in a landscape where people, seasonal water and animal movements all matter.
