The Sorris Sorris Hiking Safari is a unique opportunity to explore the stunning landscapes of Damaraland, Namibia. This 4-day, fully catered, slackpacking hike takes you through the Sorris Sorris Conservancy, covering approximately 80 kilometers.

Hike Directions

Check into Madisa Camp from 2 PM onwards. While alcoholic beverages aren't included, drinking water will be provided throughout the hike. Your vehicle will be securely parked at the camp during your adventure.

Join the 6 PM briefing session with experienced guides from WWS, followed by a delicious dinner to fuel your upcoming days.

Days 1 and 2: Into the Heart of Damaraland

Wake up at 5:30 AM, enjoy a quick coffee and rusks, and embark on your daily 20-kilometer hike. Day 1 will take you across vast dune fields towards the majestic Brandberg Mountain. On Day 2, the terrain transitions from dunes to harder gravel as you make your way towards the Ugab River.

Each evening, you'll arrive at a comfortable wild campsite equipped with tents, toilets, showers, and a dining area. Relax under the starlit sky and enjoy a hearty dinner.

Day 3: Along the Ugab River

Another 5:30 AM wake-up call, followed by breakfast, sets the stage for your final 20-kilometer hike. Follow the course of the Ugab River, passing through stunning landscapes and potentially encountering unique wildlife.

Day 4: The Final Stretch

Conclude your adventure with a final 20-kilometer hike along the Ugab River. Once you reach the end point, you'll be transported back to Madisa Camp. Spend your final night at the camp, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past few days.

About the area

Damaraland, a region in northwestern Namibia, is renowned for its rugged beauty and unique wildlife. It's characterized by vast, arid landscapes, towering mountains, and ancient rock formations. One of its most iconic features is the Brandberg Mountain, home to the famous White Lady rock painting.
