Liphofung Nature Reserve

Liphofung Nature Reserve, now also recognised as the Liphofung Cave and Cultural Heritage Site, protects a dramatic rock overhang near Butha-Buthe in northern Lesotho. It is Lesotho’s smallest reserve, but its scale should not be mistaken for lack of importance: the site brings together Late Stone Age heritage, San rock art and an early chapter in the life of King Moshoeshoe I.
