Situated 15 meters from the Lower Breede River estuary and 15 kilometers from the sea, this self-catering house is nestled on a 25-hectare property, surrounded by the unique renosterbos fynbos of the region.
Rustic and Comfortable Accommodation
The timber frame house provides comfortable, though not luxurious, accommodation for up to six guests. It features three bedrooms and two bathrooms:
- Main bedroom with a double bed.
- Second and third bedrooms with twin beds.
- Shared bathroom with shower, basin, and toilet.
- Separate toilet.
Please note: Guests must bring their own bedding, including towels, sheets, pillows, duvets, and blankets. A few duvet inners, mattress protectors and pillows are provided.
Off-Grid Living and Basic Amenities
The house operates almost entirely off-grid, relying on rainwater stored in tanks and a basic solar panel system. The kitchen is equipped with:
- Solar-powered fridge.
- Gas stove.
- Cutlery and crockery.
- Tea and coffee-making facilities.
The house is lit by solar lights and features a gas water heater. A spacious dining table and comfortable lounge area provide communal spaces. Due to the lack of 220V power, appliances like microwaves and ovens are not available.
Natural Surroundings and Outdoor Activities
The property offers a peaceful and secluded environment, with the nearest house 200 meters away. Guests can enjoy:
- Braai facilities for outdoor cooking.
- A 25-meter jetty extending into the river, perfect for swimming and relaxation.
Important Fire Safety Notice
During the dry season, the region faces a high fire risk. Guests are required to monitor fires and braais at all times. In windy conditions, the risk of veld fires increases significantly.
