A Rich History

Malealea Lodge traces its origins back to 1905 when it was established as a trading post by the enigmatic Mervyn Bosworth Smith. A distinguished figure with a fascinating past, Smith's love for Basutoland (now Lesotho) led him to spend over four decades in this enchanting land. The small village of Malealea grew around this trading post, and its legacy continues to this day.

A Modern Oasis

In 1986, Mick and Di Jones took over Malealea Lodge, transforming it into a thriving 90-bed complex powered by the sun. Today, the lodge is renowned for its exceptional hospitality, breathtaking scenery, and a wide range of outdoor activities.
